Everyone has dreams. Things they’d like to do… one day. Whether it be a dream job, an adventurous bucketlist item, or even something small, we all need something to look forward to and work towards.
However, I think that we can fall into the trap that simply wanting something badly will get us there; when in reality it takes much more than that; it takes hard work to achieve those high goals. I’ve recently found myself lacking in motivation (especially in school work), but a good way to get myself back on track is to remember my goals and where I’d like to be one day.
It can be easy to give up on dreams when they seem like too much work, or to push things off until a ‘better time’. But the best thing you can do for yourself tomorrow is to start today. And this doesn’t have to mean something as extreme as quitting your job and travelling the world, it can be as easy as making a small change in your life that will help you in the future (for your health, wellbeing, anything).
Remember that while it is important to have desires, it is more important to work towards the things you want. If you were looking for the right motivation to start a project or make a change, let this be it. In the words of Shia Labeouf: JUST DO IT!
